Stadium Food Dangers: Health Threat at the Ballpark
You go to support your favorite team. You go to see the other team lose. You go to have fun, see friends, and cut loose and let off some steam, but the last thing you go to the big game for is to get sick from the hot dogs, burgers, and sushi (yes, some stadiums sell sushi).
OK, so stadium food isn’t exactly health food, but we’re not talking about a bad case of heartburn. We’re talking about something far more serious: food-borne illness. According to a recent report published by ESPN, more than half of the concession stands or restaurants at 30 U.S. sports venues had been cited for at least one “critical” or “major” health violation. These unsafe and unsanitary food practices greatly increase the risk for food poisoning.
