Tainted Dog Food, Human Salmonella Outbreak Update

Several other pet food companies have voluntarily recalled some of their products that were manufactured by Diamond Pet Foods at their Gaston, South Carolina, facility.
Diamond Pet Foods recently issued three recalls of various dry dog and puppy food products after 14 people in nine states became sick with the same strain of salmonella found in unopened bags of their dry dog food that came from the same facility in South Carolina.
Natural Balance Pet Foods, Apex Pet Foods, WellPet LLC, and Canidae Pet Foods are voluntarily recalling certain formulas of their pet food. There have been no animal or human illnesses related to any of the products that these companies are recalling, and none of them have tested positive for salmonella. These companies have issued this recall out of caution and to ensure the health and safety of their consumers and pets.
