Priscilla Presley and Silicone
AddThis Social Bookmark Button

"Priscilla Presley is the victim of botched cosmetic procedures."

From (TMZ):
Priscilla, whose face looks ... strange on "Dancing with the Stars," went to Dr. Daniel Serrano around 2003. Serrano was a good-looking doc from Argentina who hooked into Hollywood's social A-list and started giving them what he claimed were miracle injections that worked better than Botox.

In fact, Serrano was injecting industrial, low-grade silicone similar to what's used to lubricate auto parts in Argentina into the faces of these women.

Another celebrity falls into the hands of the wrong doctor for cosmetic surgery. So much for fame and fortune immunizing against bad selection of professionals.

If these people - presumably with savvy connections - and living in the world's epicenter of cosmetic surgery, Beverly Hills, can't pick the right doctor, or at least one with a CA medical license, what about the less sophisticated of America?

My latest book, The Essential Cosmetic Surgery Companion, a unique workbook, really makes it easy to avoid doing dumb things. It even has links to the Federation of State Medical Boards to facilitate checking that the doctor working out of his patients' homes (a huge RED FLAG) has a valid medical license.

It's sad that the great accomplishments of modern cosmetic surgery are tainted by crooks, charlatans and grifters. But, in this world, medical or otherwise, it is "Buyer Beware!"

I will continue to love the stars who let their personality and their laugh lines show. Everyone can't look 20 something, who will play the meaty character roles?

Silicone injections were first done in breasts of Japanese women with longterm disastrous results; later, Las Vegas showgirls also subjected themselves to breast enhancement through silicone injections and suffered horrific consequences. All of this can be researched online. The body was not meant to have all of this dangerous material injected into it. Silicone breaks down into its dangerous components, shifts, ruptures, becomes infected, and the body's immune system rejects it, causing all kinds of autoimmune responses.

It's too bad that we live in a world that puts pressure on women to do foolish things.

Elvis wouldn't have approved. He let himself go naturally with drugs and whatever. Diet, exercise, and genetics are the variables. Do the best with what you got and accept with good humor the consequences of aging. Just remember God loves us all the way we are!

I agree that it's too bad that she didn't feel secure enough with herself to realize how beautiful a woman she ALREADY was...prior to whatever she had done...then botched. She's definitely trying to hide it a lot by covering her face a lot with her hands and "acting" like she has dry lips, putting her hands there to rub them, etc. Poor thing - she cannot even smile any more. All the others were wearing huge smiles...she couldn't even show a small one. Very sad.

How awful to see that someone said that she and others deserve to have things go wrong because they were trying to keep up their appearance. Doesnt the Lord say "he without sin cast the first stone." How can you judge someone that way? As far as those with silicone getting autoimmune disorders, as someone who has never had plastic surgery, but has the autoimmune disorder rheumatoid arthritis, I can tell you that no one deserves the pain and agony that accompanies many of these disorders.

I don't see that Priscilla's intentions were at fault, just the doctor she used. Plenty of womemn get injections to plump their lips or soften wrinkles, especially in the entertainment world. I don't see her as being phony or foolish for wanting to look younger. I see her as being the unfortunate victim of medical incompetence. How can this doctor be allowed to practice on anyone? Something like this can happen to anyone.
