Welcome to the latest evolution of WebMD's election special, Health Matters in the 2008 Election. This newest version will, among other things, bring you more news on the presidential election, from WebMD and other reputable news sources, on our election news page.

We will also continue to do deeper dives into some of the topics that are most important in this election. To start, we focused on your most pressing questions about health insurance.

In addition, we'll keep conducting interviews with key thought and opinion leaders as the election cycle develops. Our most recent was with former U.S. Surgeon General Richard Carmona, MD.

And if you want to know who's still in the race, and who's out, you can check out our page, Who's Dropped Out. Republican U.S. Representative Tom Tancredo joined that group Thursday, Dec. 20th. His electorate support, according to various polls, was never was able to get out of the low single digits.

So, here's our campaign pledge: As the candidates continue to refine their stands on health, we'll keep you up to date until Election Day.

Health is one of the issues at the heart of this election, and we seriously take that to heart. We'll keep you posted.
