I am so happy that I joined the WebMD Fitness Challenge. I have learned so many things and accomplished so much during this time. I am smaller than I was before I got pregnant, I finally was able to fit into my "skinny" jeans after years of thinking that would never happen.

Even my family has caught on to the lifestyle change. My sister hired a personal trainer and my husband is working out like 4 times a week and watching what he eats.

I am happy to report that I am still maintaining my weight even a month after the last weigh-in. I am comfortably able to wear smaller clothing, although I have yet to go to the mall to purchase new items to fit my new size. I have still been modifying items I have in my closet. I have been walking during my lunch break and still eating those Cheerios and oatmeal every other day. Dinner is always before 7:00 p.m. so that I don't go to bed on a full stomach and I am still drinking lots of water. I believe all of this is helping me maintain my goal weight.

Thanks again WebMD!

Related Topics:

WebMD Video: Exercise and Your Brain

WebMD Video: Pick Up the Pace of Your Daily Walk

Technorati Tags: WebMD Fitness Challenge, exercise, diet, weight loss, health and wellness

Thank You WebMD

I am so excited. I managed to maintain my goal weight these last couple of weeks and even come under my goal weight by a couple of pounds. In addition, I can't forget the WebMD community who have followed my progress and kept me motivated along with my husband, family and friends.

It is a journey because it does not end with the challenge; it is a lifetime commitment that I am glad I started.

Related Topics:

WebMD Video: Assess Your Fitness Level

WebMD Video: Getting In Shape - Which Workout Plan Works?

Technorati Tags: fitness rx challenge, diet, weight loss, health and wellness

Holding on to my goal

I weighed in and I am still just under 160. That's actually less then my starting weight at the beginning of my pregnancy. Can you believe it? I can't.

When I weighed myself at my last meeting with Sega and Michael, I held my breath before looking down at the scale because I was so scared of what the scale might say. I had been working out like crazy this past week and although I was getting in a lot of extra cardio, sometimes even that isn't enough to tip the scale. It just depends on how your body decides to fall that day.

It seemed like my goal weight was so unattainable at some points throughout this challenge. Now that I have achieved my goal, the real challenge is to maintain or drop below my target weight.

Wish me luck.

Related Topics:

Keeping the Weight Off

WebMD Message Board: Maintaining Your Weight Loss

Technorati Tags: diet, exercise, fitness, health-and-wellness

Still determined

I forgot to mention in my last blog entry that I jumped rope for the first time in years. Sega, the trainer, wanted to switch things up a bit and had me jump rope for 10 minutes or so. Man, that was so hard. It takes a lot of energy and stamina or endurance to jump rope that long. Of course, I had to stop a couple of times in between, to either catch my breath or recover from tripping. I've never been graceful with the rope but I was happy for the change of pace.

My neck has been bothering me a lot lately so I've had to cut back on exercises that put a lot of strain on my neck. I tend to get headaches that stem from my neck from time to time. It actually stems back to a number of car accidents I've been in the past. It's been hard to escape the injury all together. Therefore, we've been working to modify my exercise on the weeks my neck are extra sensitive. This week I am concentrating on cardio so that I can shed these extra few pounds that will not leave my side. These last few pounds have been the hardest to shake but I am still determined! We've been spring cleaning and preparing for Easter. Easter dinner came and went and I did fine. My family traditionally cooks big dinners and I managed to eat only one plate! I actually got full a lot quicker than expected; however, I cannot say the same for my drinking habits. That sweet tea crept in somehow and had a couple of cups full. I wonder does it count if I had a slice of lemon in each.

Last week's weigh in was no surprise. I didn't lose or gain any weight, just steadily maintaining. I was a little scared when stepping on the scale because I have been snacking a lot this past week. I have been craving ice-cold Coke and chocolate for some reason. And no, I am not pregnant, just greedy.

Where do cravings come from anyway? Some weeks I can go without having any type of craving and then others I can't stop myself. There's this gourmet Belgian chocolate location that I found and I have found myself in there every other day. The chocolate just melts in your mouth. I had to stop myself because I was really getting carried away. Therefore, this week I am trying to cut back on many items so that I can reach my goal weight. Sometimes it just seems so unobtainable even though I only have a few pounds to go. I also haven't made it to the gym this week and I am supposed to weigh in with Sega, the trainer, in a couple of days.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot; I did a 5K walk last weekend also. That was a great motivator. It was like nothing to walk it. Now if you would have put me in the same place a year ago, I might not have felt the same way. It was fun. My husband and I are considering joining others just to get the exercise.

I look forward to next week and hoping to be few pounds lighter.

Related Topics:

Snack Attack: Coping with Cravings

Indulge a Little: The Cheater's Diet

Technorati Tags: fitnessrxchallenge, diet, fitness, exercise, nutrition

Shopping Woes

I can't seem to fit anything in my closet lately and what I do wear looks horrible because it is either too big making me look frumpy or too old. I haven't really been shopping since my pre-pregnancy days and even before then I was doing very little because my husband and I were saving for our wedding. Simply put, I need a completely new wardrobe because I am tired of looking like yesterday's news.

I did a little bit of shopping this past week and I have to say I am a little scared of the size that fits me. Yes, I know that I boasted about fitting into my skinny, size 10 jeans but those jeans are more than a couple of years old and a little worn. Therefore, I really didn't expect to fit into a size 10 at today's clothing stores but to my surprise I could and I was hesitant to purchase that size. My husband was with me and asked why would I get a size bigger and I have to admit I am afraid of slipping.

Right now, my closet is filled with a range of sizes including some size 10's that I haven't been able to wear in years. I would hate to buy size 10 clothing and then not be able to fit them and waste more money and have to do this shopping thing all over again. I hate to even admit this but I am scared of slipping back to a larger size. It happens all the time.

So I am kind of in a holding pattern. I've bought a few pieces here and there but haven't really took the leap of faith to buy a lot of items in a "10". I am still waiting to see how much more weight I can lose. This week, since my husband is feeling better I am trying to at least get some cardio in everyday. I'll let you know how that goes.

Related Topics:

Finding Clothes that Fit and Flatter

8 Ways to Look Thinner - Right Now!

Why can't life stand still?

I wish that life could stand still while I lose these additional pounds. Every week it's something different. I have yet to step in the gym this week at all.

I have been quite busy nursing my husband back to health because he had surgery and is unable to lift, bend or carry anything for a week. Usually he looks after our son while I go to the gym but since he can't lift him it isn't possible. I do have a treadmill in my basement but I haven't gotten to that either because I have been so swamped and tired that about time I get home and prepare for the next day and get my son to bed it's time for bed myself. Lately I have just been falling into bed and waking up half way through the night to realize I still have my clothes on or didn't finish something I was doing like cutting the lights off in the house, getting my clothes out, etc.

Although last week I was celebrating getting into my size 10 jeans, I still have yet to tip the scale towards my goal weight. I have been trying to control my eating since I haven't gotten to the gym this week but even that's hard. I have been constantly carrying bags of Cheerios (Cholesterol Reduction) and grapes to ward off hunger but that doesn't always last. I did that at the hospital while I was waiting for my husband and I was still hungry when I finished which only made me over eat at my next meal. That's why I wish that life could stand still so that I can lose these pounds that I have been struggling with for the past month and then life can continue but I guess this isn't Burger King and I can't have everything my way!

Related Topics:

WebMD Guide: Time Management

Setting Realistic Weight Loss Goals

Technorati Tags: Fitness Rx Challenge, diet, fitness, exercise

Skinny Jeans - I Have Arrived!

Finally, some good news - I can fit into my "skinny" jeans once again. I can't believe it -- ladies or anyone listening -- but the other day I pulled out a pair of jeans that I have not been able to wear in years -- even pre-pregnancy. The last time I tried them on, I could barely get them up over my huge thighs. To my surprise, they slid right on up and I could button them without having to hold my breath! I even wore them out the same night to celebrate my birthday. Although my weight hasn't changed, which was shown at my last weigh-in, I am just so ecstatic about this.

My measurements were taken also the last time I weighed in and it seems that I am losing inches although I am not shedding any pounds. When I started this challenge I was wearing a size 15/16 and still pouncing around in maternity clothes. Today I can fit into my size 10 "skinny" jeans. Of course this is all relative. Someone else's skinny jeans may be a size 2, but mine are defined as a size 10! What a bummer. I started to panic when I realized the scale hadn't changed. I immediately contacted the nutritionalist and the trainer because I was concerned that at the rate I was going, I might not get to my goal weight. Nevertheless, they assured me everything was fine and I am on track. But to calm my fears I am working with the trainer to increase the number of workouts I have per week, provided my daily routine doesn't get interrupted. The nutritionalist will also be reviewing what I am eating from time to time and give me suggestions for improvement.

I actually started out doing a food journal everyday but then got lazy somewhere in between and stopped doing that. This will help me to monitor what I am putting in my mouth also because I now have to be accountable when I submit journals to the nutritionalist. I am reassured that I will make my goal but I am not so sure I will ever be happy with how slow it comes off.

The next challenge? My birthday is tomorrow and I will be celebrating all week I am sure. In the past it has been with food. Let's see if I can improve the quantity and quality of food this year!

Related Topics:

WebMD Video: Tips to Overcome Emotional Eating

WebMD Video: 5 Easy Calorie-Cutting Tricks

Technorati Tags: fitness, diet, weight loss, health-and-wellness

The Struggle Continues...

I am struggling with these last 5-7 pounds. The last couple of weeks I have been back on track at the gym and eating right but the scale does not show the difference at all. It is so frustrating. I have gone weeks without even going to the gym and have lost more weight. It's depressing me because I don't want to let down my WebMD community nor myself.

I feel like I just want to inhale everything I see. Literally, everything I see I gotta have. Today, for example, it started. I pictured a strawberry milkshake and then tried to shake it out of my mind. I even walked around the block a couple of times to try to talk and walk myself out of it. Nevertheless, at the end of my walk, my feet just walked me right in to get a milkshake. I've been depriving myself of sweets lately so when I got the urge I just went crazy.

Everyday I have been weighing myself. One day the scale will say 165, the next 166, the next 167, the next 165 again. That's why I say I am hovering. I can't seem to go below 165. I am getting desperate. It's like my body has settled on being at this number and doesn't want to budge. I tried almost starving myself but the trainer said that's a no-go. My body will do the opposite and go into starvation mode and hold on to the fat instead of letting it go or something like that. Actually, that was one of the things I learned during this challenge but somehow I temporarily forgot. I have also been spending more time at the gym pushing myself until I am exhausted. Something has to change and soon.

Related Topics:

WebMD Video: Weight Plateaus

WebMD Video: Hunger vs. Cravings

Technorati Tags: fitness, diet, weight loss, health-and-wellness, plateau, exercise

Pushing towards the goal

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to meet with my trainer last week; however, I did push myself to get more workouts in my schedule. I also lost another couple of pounds, although, I won't be able to report it until later this week.

I have been pushing myself to step up dieting and exercising so that I can reach my goal weight. I want to achieve despite my everyday work schedule getting in the way. I am excited to say that I have been very good this week but at the same time I am very scared. I have been resisting temptation so much that I feel like I am going to burst at any second and eat everything in sight. I've already done that and it didn't work so I am trying a new approach.

For the last couple of weeks I have been giving myself a goal and if I don't reach it then I have to workout twice as long and if I do I reward myself by indulging in something I like to eat but only for one night and then I am back on the plan. Plenty of fruits and veggies for me. Because of the latest scare with spinach I've steered clear of it but it's one of my favorite vegetables. I ventured out and bought some this past weekend and ate it as a salad and it was wonderful.

I have also been trying to add more protein to my diet such as boiled eggs and more fish and poultry because I rarely eat beef and I don't eat pork. I didn't do well with the "boiling the egg" concept though. I believe I may have over-boiled them because I was disgusted when I tried to eat one and I usually like boiled eggs. I think I will stick with turkey bacon or something to that liking.

Oh yeah, I also increased my cardio at the gym. I need to add more weights because the last time I was measured I seemed to be losing muscle mass instead of gaining and we don't want that.

Related Topics:

WebMD Video: Fabulous Abs

Superfoods for Your Mind

Technorati Tags: Fitness Rx Challenge, weight loss, exercise, health and wellness

Recovered: Back on Track

I recovered from my 3-pound gain last week. I pulled my briefs up by the elastic bands and said let's try to get it together. Last weigh-in with the trainer, I lost approximately 4 pounds and I accomplished that in under a week. Amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it. :)

I regained my composure because I was about to lose it. I cut back on the bread, started to drink more water (although I do this all the time), cut back on juices and soft drinks (needed the caffeine during training), increased my fruit consumption and increased my green tea intake again. Somehow it all worked just by returning to my healthy eating/drinking regimen. It also helped that I was no longer surrounded by good, free food from my training classes.

My son is feeling better, at least for the time being. He has returned to daycare and I got back to the gym. Just yesterday, I spent a good hour and 45 minutes at the gym, which is good for me. It was challenging though because I had 101 things on my mind at the time that I needed to do besides being at the gym, but I was committed to staying and getting a good workout. I am so happy I did. I felt very good that day.

I hope others who are challenging themselves to lose weight are sticking in there. I feel like I am so behind the eight ball with the end of the challenge in sight. My weight has not changed in the last month. Well, one week I lost a few pounds but that was mainly because I was sick and hadn’t really eaten in a couple of days. Once I felt better, my weight returned.

I had gotten back on track with working out up until this week. I went to the gym on Sunday like usual but haven't seen the gym since. It's all because of timing this week. I am in training for the next 2 weeks at a place that is nowhere near my home and the commute is ridiculous. So everyday I get home I am exhausted. I eat, attend to my child (if he's still up) and quickly fall out wherever I am.

Attending training has not helped my figure either. It’s only contributed to my problem – eating! It does not help that they give out free food everyday at the training sight. They provide breakfast, snacks, sodas, some dinners and the ability to order in lunch. Yesterday, I was totally out of control. They had these gourmet cookies that were very good (I am very picky when it comes to cookies) and it seemed like that had every kind you could think of. And, of course, it was up to me to sample as many as I could because they were free, of course! I didn't know how to stop myself. I practiced no self-control. Restraint was not in my vocabulary.

Today particularly was even worse, they had a seminar after training and what do you know they also provided dinner of all things. I felt like I had just had lunch. I wasn't hungry at all. I was just being a pig. In fact my plan was to bypass the food altogether and head straight to the seminar but "Oh No" I couldn't do that! Once I smelled the food when I passed by the room I couldn't resist. At least this time I did hesitate and put some thought into it and passed the room twice before entering and grabbing a plate. As if that counts. Did I mention it was free?

I think I am going to have to suck it up and call the Pros in, the Nutritionalist and trainer, and have them come up with a more restrictive diet plan for me because at this rate I am going to injure myself if I am constantly surrounded by free (but good) food!

Related Topics:

3% of Americans are Binge Eating

Setting Realistic Weight Loss Goals

Technorati Tags: Fitness Rx Challenge, weight loss, exercise

To be or not to be?

Last week was great except for the weigh-in. I managed to get to the gym 3 times last week without fail. No one got sick last week and I managed to meet with the trainer. Unfortunately, though, I didn't lose any weight. My weight remained unchanged. It always seems to work that way. I manage to not make it to the gym a couple of weeks during the holidays and somehow lose a couple of pounds. I finally get back to the gym and lose nothing. Such motivation! : )

This week started fine. Made it to the gym Sunday but today I did not. Once again, my son is not feeling well. Took him to the doctor's to find out he has a double ear infection and bronchitis. It hasn't even been a full four weeks into the new year and we have already taken our son to the hospital/doctor 4 times.

Did I mention he started daycare for the first time 2 weeks ago? 2007 has been a sickly year so far in the Williams residence. Our son has been sick more in the last couple of weeks than his entire first year of life. I commend all Mothers who have already gone through my plight! Your schedule can be thrown off so much when your child is sick, not too mention the pain of seeing your child in pain, not to mention the guilt from having to take off work constantly to nurse them back to health.

At this rate, I don't know how I am going to make it to my goal weight in time. I only have 10 pounds to go. If you asked me a month ago whether I thought I could make my goal I would have said "yes" with no problem and was looking forward to exceeding the goal. Today it's a different story. I feel like with every week that goes by where I am thrown off my schedule the farther and farther I am getting away from my goal. Nevertheless, I am hoping that this sick stage is only temporary and I'll be able to get on track to reach my goal weight.

Related Topics:

When to Call in Sick

Which Beverages are Healthy? Last week was even worse than the week before. I was out of work for two days sick after my husband had been sick for a couple of days prior to that. It made me even sicker every time I thought about the gym and how long it had been since I had been besides the times I met with the trainer. And thene I was sick and still couldn't get to the gym.

Then my husband and I had to take our son to the hospital for the second time in two weeks because he was running a fever. In addition, we were originally supposed to go skiing this past weekend and that got canceled because I had been sick, our son was sick and if you live on the east coast the weather has not been fit for skiing. Our son ended up having a fever from Thursday until Saturday. It was a very emotional week to say the least and a very sickly new year.

Once my son's temperature had returned to normal I was finally able to get to the gym. I figured since I had only been away for a couple of weeks I could just step back into the routine but boy, was I wrong. When I first got on the treadmill, it felt like my feet had never met a walking machine before. At the same time, it felt good to be back. I will try my hardest not to stay away from the gym that long again!

Related Topics:

Maintaining the Workout Routine

Mind and Body Fitness

Technorati Tags: fitness rx challenge, exercise, wellness

Happy New Year?

Happy New Year! This is usually the time when everyone in America signs up for a gym membership to start their New Year's off right and the gyms are usually packed. Of course, I wouldn't know because I have not gotten to the gym since the New Year!

New Year's weekend was pretty full for me. We celebrated our son's 1st birthday in our home just four days after we hosted Christmas dinner. Unfortunately, between the holidays and my son's birthday there's plenty of leftover junk in my home that I am once again trying to get rid of. Ugh!

The days leading up to these events were stressful but I managed to make it to my appointment with the trainer to find out that I had gained 2 pounds. Considering that was over a 2-week period wasn't bad but I haven't been back to the gym since.

To make matters worse, my husband and I were in the emergency room all night with our son because he had a fever and I ended up staying home with him to nurse him back to health; once again not making it to the gym. Prior to that event, I really didn't have any good excuses for not making it to the gym other than being tired. I was exhausted from all the hosting I did prior to the New Year. I return to work tomorrow, therefore my structure should return, although I really need to learn how to cope with eating and getting to the gym when I am not at work.

Work seems to bring structure to my life, I find it a little easier to eat better, and stay focused on the goal.

Related Topics:

Short Workouts Work

Easy Ways to Keep Your Portions Healthy

Technorati Tags: fitness rx challenge, nutrition, weight loss, fitness

Survived Christmas Day but it's not over

Whew, I survived Christmas day without overeating. I believe that's partly because I was hosting the event in my home. Whenever I host any event, it's hard for me to sit down and actually enjoy what I've slaved over, although I did do a lot of tasting to make sure the food turned out ok. Too bad standing does not count toward a workout because if it did I should have lost about 5 pounds. I was on my feet from sunup to sundown. The balls and the heels of my feet were hurting so bad that I could hardly walk this morning. I believe I was working on about 2 hours of sleep for the entire day.

Today is a different story. I finally had a good helping of what I cooked yesterday since I could finally sit down and enjoy it. I have been nibbling back and forth on sweets all day, which isn't a good thing. I encouraged everyone yesterday before leaving that they needed to take as much as they possibly could. Even with that said there is still a good amount of sweets leftover for me to devour. Way too much temptation! I go back to work tomorrow so that should get me back in the swing of things until this weekend. Did I mention that this was our son's 1st Christmas, not to mention his first birthday is this coming weekend? I'm hosting that party in my home also, the same weekend of New Year's. The excitement isn't over yet.

Related Topics:

The Art of Power Snacking

Top 10 Nutritional Nightmares

Technorati Tags: fitness rx challenge, holidays, nutrition, diet

Sweet Tooth

Lost another 2 pounds!! This is great considering I only made it to the gym once last week. Personally, I think it's the stress that dwindled away those 2 pounds. My sweet tooth has calmed somewhat but not nearly enough to justify the loss. The other day I stopped at the Godiva store and purchased 3 different chocolates then ate them all that night. I felt so guilty afterwards but they were so good. The temptation is just so high around the holiday season. I also had some ice cream over the weekend; a bad habit that's making a come back! So as you can see I am not in control still but I did get my workout in today.

Related Topics:

Don't Gain Weight During the Holidays

Exercise Music: Tunes to Get Fit By

Technorati Tags: fitness rx challenge, exercise, weight loss, nutrition

Losing Control

Help! I have been falling and can't get up. I have been snacking on oatmeal cookies like crazy and I want more. I made some homemade oatmeal cookies last week and I know I ate at least 2 a day. One day I even ate one for breakfast. What a way to get my oatmeal.

I have also had a sweet tooth for the last week. I have constantly wanted sweets. Like today, I needed some ice cream and nothing else would do. Before I indulged in ice cream I had an apple to see if that would curb the craving but it didn't help. It might have even made it worse.

I have been stressed this year over the holiday season. I have done nothing on time and my to-do list is growing by the day. We usually decorate the day after Thanksgiving to kick off the holiday season. This year; let's just say we purchased our tree this weekend.

Moreover, not only am I hosting Christmas dinner at my house, but my husband and I are also giving our son a birthday party 4 days after Christmas. He will be turning one! While it's exciting that our baby will be turning one and it's his first Christmas, I am stressed about entertaining in our home.

I feel like the house should be near perfect and there's a lot to do before it reaches that point. There's less than 2 weeks left to prepare and I am ready to pull my hair out. This has left very little time to work out. I went to the gym yesterday but only completed my cardio portion of the workout once again. I just can't seem to get it together.

On top of that, I have been having really bad headaches and backaches and have been prescribed 800mg Motrin for the pain. Oh yeah, to top that off, I haven't lost any weight in the last two weeks as shown at my last weigh-in . That's depressing with itself. Hopefully, this time next week I'll be in better control of my life!

Related Topics:

Cut the Stress, Simplify Your Life

Holiday & Seasonal Recipes: The Healthy Way

Technorati Tags: fitness rx challenge, holiday stress, holiday recipes

Back to the basics

I finally made it to the gym over the weekend and it felt good to be back. Sometimes I get a little restless when I haven't been to the gym in a couple of days. I suppose that's a good thing. I actually just came from working out tonight also. I only got a chance to do 40 minutes of cardio. I'll have to catch up with the weights probably on Wednesday.

On the not so good news side, my cholesterol has crept back up. I just got my results and it wasn't pretty but I should not be surprised. I haven't been eating oatmeal like I was in the beginning. It's very hard for me to eat oatmeal now because I ate it almost every day for a few months. Now all I want to do is gag when I eat it now. I will try it again maybe in a couple of weeks so that I can get those numbers back on track. I am trying to give myself a grace period so that when I eat it again it's like new.

In addition, this week, my office mates found out that I was a part of the WebMD Fitness Challenge. I had been keeping it a secret so that it wouldn't be any pressure while I was at work. Now since it's known it kind of makes me more accountable for my actions because I will feel like everyone's watching what I do and don't put in my mouth. We'll see how it goes...

Related Topics:

4 Tips to Lower Cholesterol Fast

The Baby Boomer Heart: Cholesterol Rising

Technorati Tags: fitness rx challenge, weight loss, cholesterol, fitness

No gym, no progress

Ugh - It's Friday already and I have not made it to the gym all week. The last time I worked out was on Sunday. Every day this week I have had things to do and have not had the time to get to the gym before they close. Today, I slipped and had french fries with my lunch - not good either and not to mention I had soda and candy earlier this week. While these incidents separately are probably not a big deal, cohesively it doesn't look or feel good. I see it as a slippery slope again. And the bad thing is I actually feel heavier after eating those fries. While the fries were good, I don't miss the feeling I get after eating them.

On another note - my lower back has been killing me. I can't even sleep well at night because of it. I am not sure if my workout is to blame or something else. I've already had one doctor's appointment on the topic and I have another one on Monday.

I'll check back soon.

Related Topics:

The Lunch-Hour Workout

7 Workout Wonders

Technorati Tags: fitness rx challenge, workout, back pain

I survived Thanksgiving

Well I survived Thanksgiving! Yippee!!!!

I only had one plate and I could barely eat that. I got on the scale the day after just to see if there was any change and luckily there wasn't. Actually the scale showed a pound and a half lighter! I was amazed, but we'll see later this week at the weigh in.

Thanksgiving day itself wasn't a problem. It's the days after Thanksgiving that proved to be a challenge. I noticed I have been snacking a lot lately and I don't mean on carrots and celery sticks. LEFTOVERS - are the culprit in my home. There were plenty of them. I found myself nibbling even when I wasn't hungry.

I need to nip that in the bud before it gets out of hand but it's so hard around this time of the year with with so many sweets and baked goods just lying around. Christmas is going to be really hard because I am hosting this year at my home which means I will be cooking and my son's 1st birthday is a few days after Christmas in which we plan to do something also and then there's New Years.

I have a weakness for eggnog around this time of the year and that's a little more than a few calories to worry about especially when there's alcohol added to the mix. But I am going to limit my accessibility to this drink because I am not trying to go overboard. You see last year I couldn't drink because I was pregnant and so I have been looking forward to this time of year to roll around again so that I could indulge in that frothy drink.

The next couple of weeks I plan to work out extra hard during my visits to the gym so that I can reap the benefits of weight loss and still be able to have my eggnog. Yesterday, I was at the gym for my normal length of time but I increased the intensity of my workout and boy am I feeling it today. I feel it with every step I take. I basically ran harder, walked faster, and increased the weights and the speed for my cardio. If only I could do that every time!

Related Topics:

Naughty and Nice Holiday Foods

Add Joy, Not Pounds, With Holiday Spirits

Technorati Tags: fitness rx challenge, weight loss, nutrition, fitness

Where have my breasts gone?

Help! I need to talk to the trainer about this because I have a feeling they are gone forever. You take the good with the bad I suppose. While I am happy that I am losing weight and people are starting to notice I really hate that my breast have depleted over the last couple of months. I was hoping my husband wouldn't notice between the push up bras, etc. but yikes he did just the other day.
