Welcome to The Recipe Doctor's Kitchen (Elaine Magee)

Welcome to my kitchen blog! I'm Elaine Magee and I'm the Recipe Doctor. "Recipe Doctor" means one of the things I do (for WebMD, my national food column, and books) is "doctor" favorite foods and recipes so they are lighter and healthier--but still delicious!

I've been the Recipe Doctor for more years than I want to count (let's just say I've been doing it every since I graduated from Berkeley and I'm now over 40). The bottom line is I've lightened a gob of recipes and I've got to say...I'm darn good at it. Oh there have been a few dishes or recipes that have stumped me. But over the years I've surprised disbelievers (and even myself from time to time) with great light food can taste.

I hope you'll join us often because I've got a lot of info I want to share with you! I've written over 25 books on nutrition and healthy cooking and I'm still writing about all sorts of nutrition/healthy cooking topics--so we'll have lots to talk about.

Each week I'll be writing about:

* THE LIGHTER SIDE (cooking tales about my weekly lightening adventures and mishaps and of course successes!)

* SHOP TALK (What I learn or come across while going about my weekly Recipe Doctor shopping trips)

* FOOD NEWS YOU CAN USE (I'll be checking out some of the latest nutiriton news and adding my two cents to the ones I think you might be most interested in)

I'm Elaine Magee and I'm the Recipe Doctor--Changing The Way America Eats--one recipe at a time!
