Great article.
Whole wheat is so much better for me than white flour, but it's still hard to switch!
i love whole wheat flour . now even it is available in wheat white which you can not tell the
difference. I made fresh pizza from whole wheat also. live it healthy way!
Jake, I would have agreed with you a few years ago. With the exception of a wonderful French Bread or that type, I'll now take wheat bread over any white bread. It took a little doing but now I'm addicted. I've even moved on the the 3,5,7 whole grain heavy bread and love it. Keep trying :-).
What about for people who have to do Gluten free? And not to push an opinion but there seems to be some good evidence that gluten isn't that healthy. How about healthy frugal meals?
Where can you find a loaf of bread for $1.99 these days? The cheapest I've been able to find is $2.35.
I always buy bread at the bakery outlet. There is a good selection and it is so much cheaper than the grocery store. You should see if there is one in your community. They are really worth the trip.
Make sure it doesn't have corn syrup!
Bread is always cheaper at Aldi's.xmulb
There is not enough sugar in the typical loaf of bread for the high fructose corn syrup to be of major concern. However, stear clear of the whole white and other breads advertising whole wheat, but use bleached or enriched wheat flour. This is exactly what is unhealthy about white bread. Give wheat two weeks, and you will never want anything else.
