A Zero-Calorie Chocolate Mint Beverage? Yes!

File this new beverage away in a category marked “tastes way better than you think it will.” I wasn’t sure what to expect when I opened the bottle of MetroMint Water’s Chocolate Mint beverage. I like water and I like mint and I undeniably love chocolate… but all those things wrapped up together? I had my doubts.

MetroMint Chocolatemint Water

It was love at first sip. I then checked the nutrition information label again to make sure it was truly zero calories with no alternative sweeteners. All the flavors in the MetroMint line of water have zero calories and all have something to do with “mint.” Which begs the question, “What’s with all the mint?”

The idea behind adding the mint is to take refreshment to a whole new level, according to the new beverage company, providing a delicious taste and cooling sensation you can get only from real mint. True enough, the list of ingredients on any of the bottles are natural and straightforward such as purified water, mint, cocoa essence on the bottle of the ChocolateMint beverage.

The top three flavors are Peppermint, ChocolateMint and Spearmint. I’m making my way through all the flavors but so far my personal favorite is ChocolateMint. I liken drinking this water to taking a swig of spring water while you are sucking on a breath mint.

You can find these waters at Whole Foods, Safeway and Kroger as well as online. Granted each 16.9 ounce bottle will cost you at least $1.40 so drink them with budgetary discretion – splurge for this instead of a buying a soda.
