Quick Crowd-Pleasing Appetizer

Looking for an appetizer that you can make in about 15 minutes from start to finish?…an appetizer that will please a crowd of teens or football fans?

With two store-bought products and a preheated oven, toasty turkey sausage crescent bites are only ten minutes away. Yes, they are both processed food products, but they are both lower fat and lower calorie options and the result is highly likely to go over well at most parties.

Ingredients:

1 pop can reduced fat crescent rolls
7 ounces Hillshire Farm Turkey Lit’l Smokies (turkey smoked sausage)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 375-degrees. Unroll dough and separate into 8 triangles. Cut each triangle into 3 equal sized triangles.
2. Place one lit’l turkey sausage on one side of each mini triangle and roll up loosely. Place on nonstick cookie sheet.
3. Bake for about 10 minutes or until crescent bites are golden brown.
4. Serve with mustard, spicy mustard, and/or catsup.

Yield: Makes 24 turkey sausage bites

Nutritional Analysis per 3 bites: 138 calories, 7 g protein, 14.5 g carbohydrate, 6 g fat, 2.5 g saturated fat, 2 g monounsaturated fat, 1.5 g polyunsaturated fat, 15 mg cholesterol, 0 g fiber, 508 mg sodium. Calories from fat: 38 percent.
