    Better Ingredients = Better Profits

    This is great news for busy families: Offering healthier, lower-calorie menu options helped some of the top chain restaurants earn more profits. Why am I so excited about this? Businesses are interested in earning money, and now the restaurant industry is getting the message that it’s good business to offer healthier food. And if it’s good business, maybe more of them will follow.

    We eat out at least once a week — it’s just not possible to work and shuttle the kids around to activities and get a good meal on the table every night. As more restaurants follow consumer demand and adopt healthier menus, the options are sure to get easier, but in the meantime, here is a guide for teens on picking the best dining-out bets. It works for younger kids, too.
