Bouncing For Better Focus
by Tracy Jensen
Some schools are trying a new way to help kids concentrate in class. Instead of discouraging kids from squirming in their seats, some teachers are replacing standard chairs with yoga stability balls, which encourage movement and engage the large core muscle group. Movement and exercise helps kids focus and stay healthy, too! Teachers are reporting improved attention, and several kids say they love the active sitting position.
Initially recommended for kids with attention issues, teachers are finding it helpful to keep the entire class motivated and alert. Plus, it looks like a lot of fun.
What do you think? Would you support this kind of change in your child’s class?
